Sound Tips
Here are five simple tips to help your church each week!

Quick Tips
1. Communicate Early, Not Late
At least a few days in advance:
Set list
Song keys
Arrangement notes
Surprises create stress and bad mix.
2. Respect Soundcheck Time
Avoid Late starts
Avoid Last-minute gear swaps
Soundcheck is not optional prep—it’s mission-critical.
3. Give Clear Musical Direction
Tell the engineer:
Who leads each song
Where dynamics should build or drop
When moments should feel intimate vs. powerful
They can’t guess what’s in your head and they can’t prepare for what they aren't told.
4. Protect the Sound Engineer Spiritually
Tech volunteers serve under pressure and often feel invisible.
Thank them publicly
Pray for them
Speak encouragement regularly
A valued engineer performs better.
5. Create a Feedback Loop (Not Criticism)
After service:
“What worked?”
“What felt off?”
“What can we improve next week?”
Focus on improvement, not blame.
Final Thought (CEO-Level Truth)
When worship pastors and sound engineers work as one team, the congregation feels it—even if they can’t explain why.
